What AllSet does

What it sets up
- eduroam and UCI-WiFi: the secured campus networks. AllSet gives your device a setup that includes the real UCI server, so your device can check it is talking to UCI and not an imposter.
- Campus and housing networks (the UMA and RMA networks): joined by registering your device's Wi-Fi MAC address once.
How registration works, and your password
For the campus and housing networks, AllSet shows you a short form that is already filled in, and submits it to OIT's existing registration system as you, using the sign-in you already have. AllSet never asks for, sees, or stores any Wi-Fi or account password. For eduroam and UCI-WiFi, your device stores your password itself and answers the network directly; AllSet is never in the middle.
What AllSet is for. AllSet gets your personal devices online at the basic
(BYOD) level. It does not grant access to sensitive campus applications, and it is not meant to. Those still need
the ZotDefend apps.
What it stores
- The nicknames you give your devices, so you can tell them apart.
- Each device's MAC address and which networks you set up, so your list can show what is done.
- Timestamps, including when you agreed to this page.
